The UC Berkeley Oxford Tract farm is used for student research and food production. Intercropping is an awesome technique that provides a greater yield of broccoli than conventional monocropping techniques.
By planting buckwheat inbetween each broccoli plant, no pesticides are necessary because the buckwheat attracts beneficial insects that prey on aphids and other less desirable /unwanted insects.
